FLEXIM's newest refractometer PIOX® R400 is the only transmitted light refractometer in the market. The transmitted light method has the advantage of not being influenced by coating and deposits on the prism since the measurement does not take place at the ultra-thin boundary layer between the measurement prism and the medium, but directly in the volume flow.

PIOX® R400 is not only unique because of its measuring principle. PIOX® R also offers another special feature: a dual-beam difference measurement. It is not only one but two beams of light whose refraction by the medium is measured. This innovative method allows for a completely drift-free measurement.

Just as his proved predecessor PIOX® R300, R400 can be used in the most diverse applications. A number of different designs, materials and connection types for pipes and tanks guarantee optimum process integration. To meet the special requirements of the chemical industry, versions for use in explosive atmospheres from ATEX zone 2 to ATEX zone 0 are available.
