The new FLUXUS®: a flowmeter for offshore applications

The offshore FLUXUS®

The newest ultrasonic flowmeter of the FLUXUS family was specially engineered for offshore applications. Its robust housing is all stainless steel and thus seawater resistant. FLUXUS ADM 8127 is ATEX-certified for operation in explosive atmospheres (zone 1 and 2). Its electronics and terminals are hermetically sealed - the terminal design is rated EX-e ("increased safety").

The clamp-on flow transducers are not submitted to wear and tear. Whatever is flowing through the pipe - be it sand, stones, cement, etc... - there is absolutely no risk for FLUXUS. Furthermore the measurement is pressure independent. The transducers are quickly installed, without process interruption. Neither maintenance nor pipe work are needed.

The main characteristic of the FLUXUS ADM flowmeters is their flexibility. This is also the case with the new 8127. It can be used on pipes made of the most diverse materials with diameters ranging from 10 mm to 6500 mm (1/2" to 250") and at temperatures between -20°C (-4°F) and 120°C (248°F). Combined with the special mounting fixture WaveInjectorŽ, the transducers can even be operated on pipes as hot as 400°C (752°F). Equipped with special transducers, FLUXUS will even measure gas flow.

Non intrusive measurement, high dynamic range, flexibility - these are the well known advantages of FLEXIM's clamp-on ultrasonic flow measurement. They are now also available for offshore applications.
