Refractometers
PIOX® R: Transmitted light refractometer for laboratory precision in the processPIOX® R can determine the refractive index, the density or the concentration of a liquid directly in the process. The measurement can take place in a bypass or in the main stream. Various sensor housings are available for the connection to the existing pipe system. The PIOX® R refractometer works with transmitted light. The deflection of a bundle of light rays exiting the medium is measured directly and used to determine the refractive index. This method has the advantage that the whole sample determines the measuring value, and not only a thin layer on the surface. This method allows a higher resolution and precision than conventional critical-angle refractometers and has the advantage of the measurement not being influenced by coating deposits on the prisms. The measurement is independent of viscosity and not sensitive to bubbles. No minimum flow is necessary. Standard applications such as the determination of the sugar concentration in °Brix are already stored in the electronic unit. Additionally up to 6 user-defined quantity scales can be defined for the quantity to be measured. The software RMKoeff helps you with the configuration of the scales and their transmission to the electronics. PIOX® can be used for the monitoring of complex processes. Up to 2 PIOX® refractometer sensors of any type can be connected to an electronic unit. Further measured quantities such as the conductance, the pressure or the density can be input and used for process control. The additional input quantities (conductance, pressure, density, etc.) can be used for process control. |
